Instructions for Magnetic Signs

Magnetic Signs_Installation

Before affixing the Magnet to a metal surface, be sure all surfaces are clean. The Magnet should be at room temperature when applying. Take care when handling the Magnet in extremely cold conditions, as it can become brittle.

Determine the location to place the Magnet

Ensure surface is metallic and smooth, flat or only slightly curved. Don’t apply the Magnet on an area that isn’t steel or metal.

Affix the Magnet onto the surface.

Make sure the entire Magnet is flat against the metal surface. Do not place over protrusions (moulding, decals, pin striping, etc.) or concave areas.

Ensure there are no air pockets or moisture between the Magnet and the vehicle surface and that corners and edges are smooth and flush with the surface. Curvature on the edges of the Product may result in the Magnet falling off.

To adjust the location of the Magnet after placement, remove completely and reposition by lifting from the sides to remove; do not remove from the corners.

Maintenance and storage

Remove the Magnet carefully for cleaning at least weekly, though some climates or conditions may require daily cleaning. Lift the magnet carefully on the sides, do not pull the magnet off by the corners first. Do not remove the magnet with any sharp objects or fingernails. Make sure the magnet and the corners or edges do not get buckled or folded when removing.

Clean both the Magnet and the metal surface with a mild detergent and wipe with a soft cloth or allow to air dry.

Store Magnets FLAT in a clean, dry place when not in use.

Don’t place other objects on top of a stored Magnet. Don’t store with magnetic surfaces facing each other when multiple magnets are stored together.

Failure to review and abide by these warnings could result in damage to the Magnet or your vehicle and could increase the likelihood that the Magnet will not adhere properly and may fall off during use.

Never use a Magnet if it contains any bubbles, wrinkles, bent corners and/or edges or is otherwise damaged.

Decal Installation Instructions

Vinyl Installation 1Decal, Vinyl Lettering or Digital Prints

Vinyl lettering or Digital Prints can be applied to glass, wood, metal, drywall, and any other smooth surface. Vinyl lettering lasts up to eight years, depending on the quality.

1. Clean the surface. Remove the old vinyl lettering, if present, and then clean the surface with appropriate cleaner. Take precaution to avoid lint being left on the surface. For plastic or glass, a simple surface cleaner like glass cleaner is appropriate.

2. Make a hinge for the sign you want to apply. Apply masking tape to the top of the sign. Lift the sign upwards.

Vinyl Installation 23. Remove the backing. Pull the adhesive backing upwards. Lightly spray sticky back with water.

4. Apply the sign. Carefully place the sign on the surface and then use squeegee to transfer the vinyl to the surface.

5. Remove the transfer tape. Carefully pull upwards to remove the tape and squeegee letters firmly down. Remove any air bubbles if any.

CAUTION! – Do not apply to the following: windshields, driver door window glass or passenger side door glass! Effects of condensation on window quality of perforated window films: rainfall, snowfall and or car washes can fill the small perforations and cause reduced vision until drying occurs. Consult your local laws regarding the application of window tint to vehicle glass.

Wet Weather Safety Tip

Rain can collect in the small holes and reduce vision. Use a towel to dry the surface of the perforated vinyl graphic for a clearer view prior to driving your vehicle.

  1. Prepare the Vehicle

Clean the outside glass surface which you will be applying the image to thoroughly with soap and water. Make sure that the glass surface is dry and residue free before applying your window image.

2. Position and Apply

When applying the window graphic, use masking tape strips to pre-position the image on the vehicle before removing the backing material. Carefully peel off adhesive backing from behind the image and apply from one edge and work to the opposite side, smoothing the image to prevent wrinkles. To remove any wrinkles, gently lift up the image to where the wrinkle is, smooth out the wrinkle with your hand, and continue applying.

If mounting a full window image you will have extra material to trim outside of the edge of your rear window glass. Trim the excess material with a razor blade or similar tool to complete the installation. The pressure sensitive adhesive bonds to the glass very well when first applied, but sets more firmly after a twenty-four (24) hour period. Avoid power car washes for the first week after application. For longer life avoid using window scrapers on this image. Treat this image as you would the painted surface of your car. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the image. Rear window mounted wiper blades will also cause premature wear of the image.

3. Care Tips

Special note for sliding glass rear window installations: If your vehicle is equipped with a sliding rear cab window, it is recommended that you wait one week before sliding the window. This will ensure that the pressure-sensitive adhesive is securely attached to the glass.

4. Car Washing

Avoid washing your window graphic for the first week after it is installed. After this time you can safely take your vehicle thru any commercial brush-type car wash.

5. High Pressure Power Washing

If you are using a do-it-yourself car wash, do not hold the wash wand closer than ten inches to the window mural surface. Use the same care that you would any pin striping or vinyl graphic on your vehicle and you should enjoy many years of use from your rear window graphic.
